Google is Sunsetting Gmail?

Earlier today, February 22nd, a screenshot of an alleged email from Google made its way around the internet.

The email states that Google will be sunsetting its email service (Gmail), which is estimated to have over 1.8 billion users.

The email screenshot also states that users will have up until August 1st, 2023 to access and download all of their emails.

But no need to worry….

This isn’t real. Google will not be shutting down Gmail, and you can rest easy knowing that corporate America can continue thriving.

Although this specific product sunset is fake, it wouldn’t be the first time that Google shut down a product making millions (or billions) of dollars. Just this year, Google shut down Google Jamboard, Google Podcasts, and DropCam.
